Having trouble getting your USB connection working between your Serious module and PC? SHIPTide not "seeing" your module?

Here are a few things you should try...

1. Ensure that the Module is powered and plugged into PC.

OK, you know we had to ask. Something on the module (a LED or screen) should be lit up showing you that power is up and running. And what's that USB cable dangling on your desk?

2. Try multiple USB ports.

Yes, Windows sometimes does weird things. Try plugging your Module into a different USB port.

3. Try a different USB cable.

You bet. We've had bad cables drive us nuts for an hour on support calls. The newer modules talk 480mbps USB and some older cables only work up to 12mbps.

4. Check that HarbourMaster Is Running

5. Ensure that latest driver is installed.

6. Ensure that SIM shows up in Device Manager.

7. Ask for help.

Ok, so after all that, still no joy? Drop us an email (support@seriousintegrated.com) and attach the file "debugLog.txt" that appears in a SHIPTide/SHIPCrane install folder on your PC along with the results of the steps above and information about what version of SHIPTide, HarbourMaster, and the USBD plugin it is using for further diagnosis.
