Technical Documentation

The SIM231 v2.0 Production units are scheduled to ship to distribution early may; v1.0 engineering Prototypes are currently sampling at key customers.

SHIP GUI Development

The SIM231 is supported by SHIPTide v5, currently in alpha release at key customers. Public beta is targeted for Q2'2014. Contact Serious for more information.

The platform resources for access within SHIPTide are described in the SIM231 GUI Reference Manual (GRM).

C-Based Software and Tools

Micriμm, Segger, and FreeRTOS support is targeted for Q3'2014. Early releases may be available; Contact Serious for more information.

Unlike development kits in past, the SIM231 dev kit (SIM231-A01-DEV-01) no longer contains a JTAG debugger or adapter. For C-level development, you will need a Tag-Connect TC2070 cable, retention clip, and a Segger J-Link or Renesas E1 JTAG debugger available from their respective suppliers. See the SIM231 Technical Reference Manual (TRM) for more information.
