SHIPTide exports a binary file called a "cargo", that is loaded onto the bulk FLASH storage of a Serious Integrated Module.  SHIPEngine then, on boot, unpacks and makes the GUI described in the cargo come alive:

Updating your SIM's SHIPEngine Firmware from SHIPTide
Starting with SHIPTide v5.0.107, you can now update any SIM with firmware v5.0.107 and newer from within SHIPTide.

If your SHIPTide is prior to v5.0.107 and you have SIM225 or Renesas YLCDRX64N/YLCDRX63NE, follow these one-time instructions.

Just launch SHIPTide, and select File->SIM Programming:

You will then see the SIM Programming Panel, where you can not only update the SIM's firmware, but also its boot loader elements (Tug and Paddle) as well as its GUI all in one operation.  If you want to update multiple SIMs of the same time in the same way, you can have several SIMs plugged into your PC and select multiple units.

# Choose the SIM you want to update; you can update multiple similar SIMs at once

# Choose the SHIPEngine file you want to burn into your SIM(s)

# Select Program to perform the operation.
