Usage Notes

  • WARNING: Do not attempt to revert your module to a firmware version earlier than v5.0.201 after updating with this release. The bundles earlier than v5.0.201 are no longer compatible. If you encounter any issues with this release, please contact our support email for assistance. Attempts to revert your module to a firmware version earlier than v5.0.201 may put your module into an unrecoverable state without additional hardware.

Improvements to the SHIPTide experience

Audio

  • Added support for Microsoft WAVE 16bit PCM.
  • Improved SHIPTide encoding and decoding quality.
  • Audio previews can now be stopped or interrupted by another preview request.
  • Improved error descriptions for audio objects.

Fonts

  • SHIPTide will now properly display the BPP property if antialiasing is enabled.
  • Improved encoding of fonts. Fonts using a smaller 'bits per pixel(BPP)' will use less space on a SIM.

Layout & Resources

  • Improved node selection responsiveness.
  • When switching between projects SHIPTide will now remember what nodes were previously selected.
  • Dragging and dropping of nodes in the resources now retains order.
  • Objects within a Group object in the resource tree can now be reordered using drag and drop.
  • Properties which used troolean properties will now display default and inherited properties.

Project Validation

  • Fixed a bug in SHIPTide that would not validate when the project profile was changed.

Render

  • SHIPTide 'Text' and 'String' renders now properly represent how they will render on a SIM Device.
  • Fixed inconsistencies with clipping bounds in the experimental feature 'Advanced Render'.
